Approach

The coverage is candid, editorial and documentary. That mostly means staying out of the way: the vows, the speech that goes sideways, the grandmother who will not sit down. Portraits happen, but they are quick, and the rest of the day is left to actually happen.

Austin is home — Barr Mansion, Mattie's, Hotel Ella, Hotel Saint Cecilia, The Allan House, Addison Grove, Commodore Perry Estate, Prospect House. The work also travels: Italy, Scotland, China, New Zealand, Guam, New York, Denver, Martha's Vineyard, New Orleans. Rain has never ruined a wedding day yet, and it has made a few of them.

Work has been published by The New York Times, ELLE, Texas Monthly, Austin Monthly, The Knot, Junebug Weddings and Rangefinder. Couples get a sneak peek within days and the full edited gallery, usually 500 to 800 photographs, in six to eight weeks.
